Heat pump payback period calculator

A heat pump is a significant investment. This calculator gives homes currently heated with Dutch natural gas an indication of annual savings, payback time, CO₂ reduction and potential ISDE subsidy.

How this calculator works

The tool scales Milieu Centraal's public reference homes to your gas use. The hybrid scenario changes from 1,360 to 680 m³ of gas and from 310 to 1,925 kWh of electricity; the all-electric scenario changes from 950 m³ of gas plus 250 kWh to 3,400 kWh of electricity. The range is 20% around the result. Default long-term prices are €1.37 per m³ of gas and €0.21 per kWh; you can enter your own rates.

This linear calculation is intended only for homes currently heated with Dutch natural gas. Actual results depend on insulation, heat emitters, hot water, occupant behaviour, the product, capacity and the quotation. Obtain a heat-loss calculation before buying and verify the exact ISDE amount using the product's meldcode.
